About JFM

We Are More than a market

At the Jamestown Farmers Market (JFM), we have long existed as a gathering space; a resource for education, nutrition, community building; and the bridge connecting farmers to all people in the Chautauqua Region.

The legacy of JFM dates back to 1912, with the start of the Jamestown Public Market by a group of farmers gathering to sell in the historic Brooklyn Square. With over a century of work, many businesses, organizations, farmers, and community members have ensured the success of the Jamestown Farmers Market.

Starting in 2024, JFM has become a year-round market. In the summer operating in downtown Jamestown in front of the Lucy Museum, honoring one of the most famous comedians in the world who is from right here in Jamestown. In the winter, the market move indoors to the recently renovated St. Luke’s “Undercroft”, providing a warm and welcome third space for friends and family to shop and gather.

More than a market

At JFM, we understand that the ability to access healthy food while building community is not the easiest thing to do. So through comprehensive and far-reaching programming, we ensure that everyone in the community can access fresh and local food.

We do this through community dinners, mobile markets, collaborative programs with partner organizations, farm shares and providing better reach for farmers and local businesses.
