Join a vibrant, community-centered marketplace that supports local farmers, food producers, and artisans! The Jamestown Farmers Market welcomes vendors who grow, raise, make, or produce their goods within a 70 mile region and are committed to high quality practices.

Vendors must meet basic requirements including appropriate permits and insurance, adherence to New York State and local regulations, and compliance with market rules and food safety standards.

We want to provide the best market possible to local residents and tourists. So we ensure that all vendors comply with local, state, and federal rules. Vendors are required to maintain a general liability insurance policy on behalf of the Jamestown Farmers Market. If you are unable to provide a Certificate of Insurance when applying, please explain why in the application.

Vendor Categories

  • Persons actively involved in the planting, growing, harvesting, and/or raising of agricultural products/animal on owned, rented, or leased land.

    Processor: Persons processing product sold at the market that was grown/raised by the farmer or family member of the farmer. A Farmer Processor may sell processed farm goods, value-added processed farm foods, and on premise prepared farm foods. (Example: Jelly made from fruits grown on farm, maple syrup products)

  • Persons who make food and edible goods that are not grown by themselves or their family that have been cooked, canned, dried, baked, preserved or otherwise processed from a raw food product.

    Ex. bakeries, hot food stands, goods made from u-pick farms.

  • Persons creating unique, high-quality, hand-crafted products not meant for consumption. Products should have something to do with agriculture or is food-related.

    All products sold must completely be made by the artist.

  • Groups that are at the market to provide information and services to the public.

    Examples: local agricultural cooperative extension, SNAP services, health care services, food and nutrition information, senior and veteran services.

  • A Food Retailer is a business that must grown and process at least some items that they sell, but more than 50% of what they plan on selling is made, grown, or produced by other farms and businesses.

    As a region with less availability of specific products, JFM allows these businesses to sell at the market. These businesses are crucial in creating a full and complete farmers market. Food retailers must complete a “Request to Purchase” form.

  • Other businesses that do not fit into any category may be eligible to table at the market through our sponsorship program.
